Bundle Up!

With winter upon us, there will be many snowy days during the school week! We advise you that the children WILL go outside to play every day that the temperature reaches 32 degrees and above, even if there is snow on the ground. This practice is both healthy and fun for them. Proper attire is requested and expected! The outerwear needed includes: coat, snow pants, hat, mittens, and boots. No scarves, please, as they create a hazard for possible injury. Clothing may be left at Breezy Knoll if it is more convenient for you. We ask that you dress your child with the expectation of outdoor play daily, even in cold weather.

Welcome

Breezy Knoll Child Care Center is a Rhode Island Early Learning Standards-Based Center offering a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace. Our curriculum is planned to address the eight domains of the standards: Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional Development, Language Development and Communication, Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Creativity, and Physical Health and Development.

Well-Rounded Programs

We offer programs for Toddlers (18-36 mos.), Preschool (3 yrs. old), Pre-K (4 yrs. old), Kindergarten (5 yrs. old by September 1 of the school year), and Before and After School (6-10 yrs. old). We also offer a summer camp in all of our programs.

Our curriculum is written in alignment with the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards, offering children a schedule balanced with group time and independent exploration; active time and quiet time.

Schedule a Tour

Breezy Knoll Child Care Center is a secure facility. We ask for the courtesy of a phone call or an email to schedule a tour of the center. We will then arrange a mutually convenient time. During the tour, you will visit all of the classrooms and our three playgrounds and observe the children in their daily activities. We promise you will see many happy faces, both indoors and outdoors! If you would like information about the center prior to a visit, we can either send it to you by email or regular mail.

Our summer and fall programs are filling up quickly. Don’t be left out! Call us at 401-232-7177 or email us today! jeannette@breezyknoll.necoxmail.com

Blood Driveblood drive

Tueday, March 20, 2012
from 2 - 5pm
Breezy Knoll Child Care Center, Smithfield, RI

In general, you need to be:

  • in good health
  • 16 years of age, with no upper age limitations.
  • 16-year-old donors must weigh 130 pounds, and present a signed parental permission form, which can be found under the 16-year-old area of the "Can I Donate" section of our web site.
  • 17-year-olds must weigh 110 pounds and are not required to present a signed parental permission slip, unless their particular school requires it.

Most medications do not keep individuals from donating, nor does:

  • A tattoo if it was applied in a licensed establishment by a licensed practitioner and is healed and pain free.
  • A heart attack. Most individuals can donate again once fully recovered.
  • A breast feeding mother six weeks after an uncomplicated birth.

Visit the Rhode Island Blood Center Web site.

We sponsor a blood drive every two months.
